Choosing the right curriculum is an important and at times a challenging task. In most states it is possible to get a list of state approved textbooks. This can be a good starting place to get an idea of the types of things covered in a particular course. Standards for advanced placement courses are available on College Board's website. This will give you an idea of what is covered on the AP tests.
Homeschool or curriculum fairs are good because it is possible to actually preview the textbooks. I find it is easier to actually select a textbook if I can preview it first.
There are some stores that sell curriculum.
Mardel Christian & Educational Supply has a good selection of textbooks and other educational supplies. Mardels does not offer on-line ordering but do offer mail order.
The internet is another good source for home school curriculum. There are several websites that offer new and used textbooks. HomeSchoolSearch.org provides a searchable listing of curriculum and other resources.
